A HISTORY OF
A central focus on client care serves as the road map to success.
In 1992, after several years in the financial industry, Tom Kozlowski and Andy Wilson, decided they wanted more for their clients than static investment products, and brokerage firms that mandated sales quotas.
Natives of New York and Windsor, Ontario, respectively, the two shared an overwhelming joy for their work helping clients plan for their futures and goals.
A better way.
And so, they partnered together to form Lighthouse Wealth Management, a firm of independent financial advisors specializing in comprehensive financial planning for individuals and small businesses.
The first Lighthouse office was in Tom's basement, and the laughs and memories from the long hours spent there still float around the current office today.
In 2006, with the need for more space and a desire to invest in the community, the New Market Professional Center was built. The location was chosen as a friendly, central location between Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
Ed Kozlowski, a 20-year veteran finance manager at UPS, then joined Lighthouse as a partner and shortly thereafter, Lighthouse Tax Services was formed to offer in-house tax services to clients.
Tom and Andy then formally launched 'The Compass Program,' an integrative approach to a family's wealth management. More on the Compass Program here.
After successfully building his own financial planning business, Henry Becker joined the Lighthouse team in 2011 as the firm's full-time Director of Research. Shortly thereafter he became the fourth Lighthouse partner.
Going strong in 2018.
Now in its 26th year, Lighthouse helps more than 600 families plan for their best futures, and comprehensively manages over $350 million in assets for clients across the country.
The team consists of 12 staff members, including the four partners, and is proud of the family-like relationships both within the office and with our clients.
